2.3 Payment information
When you pay by card or mobile wallet, your payment details are entered on the secure hosted payment page of our payment service provider, Paymob. Your full card number, expiry date, CVV and wallet PIN are transmitted directly to Paymob and are never collected, displayed or stored on our servers.
Paymob is certified to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and is licensed and supervised by the Central Bank of Egypt. From a completed transaction we receive only the result (approved or declined), a transaction reference, the amount, and non-sensitive details such as the card scheme and the last four digits, which we use to match the payment to your order and to process any refund.
If you choose Cash on Delivery, no payment data is collected online; you pay the courier on receipt.
3. How we use your information
- To process, package, ship and deliver your orders, and to handle exchanges, returns and refunds.
- To create and manage your customer account.
- To take payment and to verify transactions with our payment provider.
- To contact you about your order by email, SMS, phone or WhatsApp — for example order confirmation, dispatch notification, delivery scheduling or a stock issue.
- To answer your enquiries, complaints and support requests.
- To detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent orders, chargebacks and abuse of promotions.
- To improve the Site, our products, sizing and the shopping experience through aggregated analytics.
- To send you marketing and offers where you have consented, and to measure how our advertising performs. You can opt out at any time.
- To comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations in Egypt.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data because it is necessary to perform the sales contract with you (orders, payment, delivery, returns), because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our business (fraud prevention, analytics, service improvement), because you have given consent (marketing messages and non-essential cookies), or because the law requires it (invoicing, tax and record-keeping).
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent needed:
- Payment provider: Paymob, to process card and wallet payments and refunds securely.
- Delivery and courier companies: your name, address, governorate, mobile number and order contents, so your parcel can be delivered and, for Cash on Delivery, so the amount due can be collected.
- Technology providers: our web hosting provider, email and SMS/WhatsApp notification services, and security and backup services acting on our instructions.
- Analytics and advertising partners: Google (Analytics, Ads and Merchant Centre), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Snapchat. These partners receive Site activity such as pages and products viewed and purchases completed, through cookies and pixels, so we can measure and target advertising. Where required, this happens only after you consent.
- Professional advisers and authorities: accountants, auditors and lawyers, and government or regulatory authorities where we are legally required to disclose information, or to establish or defend legal claims.
6. Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:
- Strictly necessary cookies — to keep you logged in, remember your cart and language, and secure the checkout. The Site cannot work without these.
- Performance and analytics cookies — to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
- Marketing and advertising cookies and pixels — placed by Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Google to show you relevant ads and to measure their results.
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from adding items to your cart or completing checkout.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers — in particular hosting, analytics and advertising platforms — process data on servers outside Egypt. Where your data is transferred abroad, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection through contractual safeguards with those providers, as required by Law No. 151 of 2020.
8. How long we keep your data
- Order, invoice and payment records: retained for at least five years, as required by Egyptian tax and commercial record-keeping rules.
- Account data: kept while your account is active, and deleted or anonymised on request unless we must keep it for legal reasons.
- Marketing data: kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
- Support and complaint correspondence: kept for up to two years after the matter is closed.
- Analytics data: retained in aggregated or pseudonymised form.
9. Your rights
Subject to Egyptian law, you have the right to:
- know what personal data we hold about you and obtain a copy of it;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
- request deletion of your data where we no longer need it and no legal obligation requires us to keep it;
- withdraw consent at any time, including consent to marketing;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including profiling for advertising;
- receive the data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used format.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@6percenteg.com from the address registered on your account, or write to us at the postal address in section 1. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the request. Every marketing email we send also contains an unsubscribe link.
10. Security
The Site is served over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Passwords are stored hashed, access to customer data is limited to authorised personnel who need it, and payment card data never reaches our systems. We keep our platform and security software updated and monitor for unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take these measures seriously and will notify you and the competent authority of a data breach where the law requires it.
11. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Children’s clothing sold on the Site is intended to be purchased by an adult. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party links
The Site may link to other websites and social media pages that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies before providing personal data.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and material changes will be communicated to you where required.
14. Contact and complaints
For any question about this policy or about how we handle your data, contact us at info@6percenteg.com, on +20 107 046 4808, or at 11 Street 103, Maadi, Cairo 11431, Egypt.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
